I have managed to piece together a series of train connections that will take me to Badajoz near the Portuguese border. From there it's a short hop to Elvas in Portugal where I'll get a SIM card for my phone and head up north. I plan to ride through northern Portugal for a couple of weeks, then, head to Lisbon where I'll meet up with Britt around the 24th.
I'm at this crazy hostel in Barcelona. There are about 100 pre-teens and about 25 disabled adults. Plus me.
You do the math.
Blu was in bad need of a tune-up after Rome so I took some time this morning to fix a few things. I'm happily surprised at how well my bike has held up. I changed the chain in Turkey but I think it still has a few miles left in it so I kept it for a spare. The Schwalbe Tour Plus tires have worn well. The back tire has close to 5,000 miles on it and it still looks good. The drive train: cogs and rings, show very little wear.
I don't remember the last time I washed my clothes so I have them upstairs in the machine now. Everything's in the wash so I'm wearing my rain gear and it's really warm. I'm sitting here at my iPad sweating bullets. People are starting to give me that look.
