We hitched a ride to the top of Hidam Pass, the sight of an old French fort which was later taken over by the Americans during the war. It was a terrific 6-mile plunge down to Danang, then, another 25-mile ride in a scorching headwind to the small riverside resort town of Hoi An.
We've snagged a couple of rooms with balconies overlooking the river. Hoi An looks to be fairly touristy with lots of upscale western style bars and restaurants. It all looks tempting, but I'm pretty beat and envision an early dinner, then, straight to bed.
